Professor Rossa Chiu Awarded Prestigious Hong Kong Research Fellowship

18April2016

College Fellow Professor Rossa Chiu recently won the Croucher Senior Medical Research Fellowship, which is awarded to local academics, for her research on using blood plasma to detect cancer. Professor Chiu’s work involves sequencing the DNA in blood plasma, which is filled with jettisoned DNA from all over the body, to identify abnormal DNA and where it came from. This technique may enable doctors to test for many types of cancer at once, and make it easier to detect cancer earlier. Congratulations, Professor Chiu!
