Fall Workshops at Morningside
05December2025
This fall semester, the Morningside General Education team organized two workshops for students. The first workshop, held on 23 October, was a collaboration with Cacao, a local business founded by the family of a Morningside alumna. The participants journeyed through a selection of exquisite, handcrafted chocolates, learning how sustainable sourcing and ethical production shape both the story in each bar and its complex flavors. The experience culminated with a shared tasting of warm, freshly crafted chocolate—a memorable moment that directly linked principle to palate. It was an immersive session that proved mindful indulgence is not only possible but profoundly rewarding, thanks to the guidance of our hosts at Cacao.
Right before the exam season, on 25 November, Morningside students had an opportunity to relax with therapy dogs from Rise Wise, an NGO providing pet-assisted wellness services to various institutions and communities in Hong Kong. The participants learned about pet-assisted therapy, appropriate ways to interact with dogs, and volunteer opportunities at the organization. Then, they had a chance to play with Mia and Willow, the two therapy dogs who showed the students their talents during interactive activities. At the end of the event, every participant could spend some individual time with the dogs and take photos with them to keep the memories of this joyful evening.
