Burns Supper

28January2016

On January 26th Morningside College held its fourth Annual Burns Supper, an event celebrating Scotland’s national poet, Robert Burns. The supper, held annually in Scotland for more than 200 years, was brought to Morningside by College Master Sir James Mirrlees. College Fellows, Distinguished Guests, and students enjoyed a traditional Scottish meal, including the classic dish of haggis. College Fellow Simon Haines recounted “The Immortal Life of Robert Burns”, Colin Graham read “To a Mouse”, Dean of the Faculty of Law Christopher Gane led the “Toast to the Lassies”, and finally, Sir James guided the crowd through several verses of “Auld Lang Syne”.  An enjoyable evening was shared by all.
