Special Guest Workshop on Having a Great Job Interview

Prestique Ltd. Founder and CEO, Esther Ma, gave her talk entitled “Esther Ma Tells You All You Need to Know About Job Interviews” to a room full of eager students at Morningside College over lunch on Thursday, 14 April. Dr. Yvonne Loong, Morningside Member and senior lecturer for the Independent Learning Centre, helped lead the discussion.  Acing an interview can be the crucial difference between seizing an opportunity to realize a career goal and acquire new skills—or being left disappointed. Fortunately, Esther Ma shared a few simple tips that can have a big positive impact on getting a good result! She emphasized the importance the ‘three point’ approach; essentially, a response to an interview question has enough depth and sophistication if it is able to make three good points. Students also had many questions for her about proper interview courtesy and desirable qualifications for job candidates. However, in the end, Esther challenged students to think beyond just the job interview. She emphasized that what has contributed the most to her career success is her values, especially the value of having a good work-life balance.
