Morningsiders at the Hong Kong Arts Festival

2025年316日

On Sunday 16 March, six Morningside students and Junior Fellow Kait Roukey attended No Reality Now, a unique performance that combined virtual reality with theatre to mind-twisting effect. In this “dual reality” experience, every audience member was given a VR headset with which they could alternate between the live performance on stage and the virtual version taking place concurrently in augmented reality.

Later this month, a different group of students will be attending a theatre performance of Fyodor Dostoevsky’s Crime and Punishment, directed by Hong Kong director Desmond Tang and performed in Cantonese. Wrapping up the 53rd HK Arts Festival, Morningsiders will finally attend a hybrid show titled Beethoven Wars: A Battle for Peace, which will consist of cinematic manga unfolding on screen to the sound of Laurence Equilbey’s Insula orchestra performing live Beethoven symphonies.
