Dinner for the Families of the Class of 2014 and Award Ceremony

2014年43日

Last night, 2 April 2014, Morningside held its second annual Dinner for Families of the graduating class. The Master addressed the audience of seniors, parents, students, and fellows, praising the achievements and maturity of the graduands and calling them “a credit to their parents, a credit to the university, but above all a credit to themselves.” Two members of the graduating class also addressed the room. In his English speech, LI Chun Ngai Martin reminded his classmates to smile and stay positive, to remember their very small place in the infinitely large universe, and to reflect on how they would like the story of their lives to be told. CHU Sik Strauss spoke in Cantonese about the value of a university education and remembering to think about ends, not just means, saying, “Not everything in life can go as planned, but we must try to be true to ourselves. University life is not just about classroom studies or professional knowledge, it also includes constantly getting to know ourselves and finding our true aims.”

Dinner was followed by the College's annual Award Ceremony.
