Author Rob Lilwall Speaks to Students About Adventures and Writing

Morningside’s “Writers Series” brings in a handful of authors each academic year for an intimate session with students about their experiences with writing. This semester the Series brought in Rob Lilwall, a British-born, Hong Kong-based TV adventurer and travel writer. On Friday 4 April, Mr. Lilwall told stories from his three-year journey biking across the world, and he described to students the way this adventure unexpectedly led him into a life of writing. Though the life of an author is not always easy, he said, having a chance to share his experiences with others through his books is incredibly exciting and gratifying. In addition to two published books, he also has been featured in a mini-series on the National Geographic channel.

At the end of the event, five lucky Morningsiders won the raffle and got to take home their very own, signed copies of either Biking Home from Siberia or Walking Home from Mongolia.
