Class of 2023 Returns for Graduation!

Morningside welcomed back its Class of 2023 for their graduation ceremony on Thursday, November 9. Recent graduates and their families and friends arrived for a buffet lunch with the College’s leadership, Fellows, and staff. The College’s guests listened to opening addresses from College Master Nick Rawlins and recent graduates Thiha Kaung Sett (BBA in Professional Accountancy) and Justin Chow (MB ChB). Professor Rawlins commended the Class of 2023 for their tenacity in the face of pandemic disruptions to their education. Thiha began his address by thanking the College’s benefactors and went on to reminisce about the experiences he had in Morningside’s community, including eating horse meat with Kazakh friends and savoring baked treats courtesy of Morningside’s Warden. He noted that he is still searching for his passion and ended his address with a passage from Haruki Murakami’s The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle about sanguinity in the face of life’s ups and downs. The Master of Ceremonies was Yanni Chan, a Year 1 Computer Science and Engineering student.
