Hong Kong-based Author Tim Beardson Visits Communal Dinner

Timothy Beardson, author of Stumbling Giant: The Threats to China’s Future and founder of Crosby, the first international investment bank to open in China, treated students to a talk on Wednesday evening during communal dinner. In Stumbling Giant, Mr. Beardson describes the challenges faced by China as it emerges as a world power. As he explained in his talk at Morningside, the biggest threats to China’s future are demographic; in particular, if unremedied, China’s gender disparity, population decline, aging society, and its decreasing workforce will challenge its continued growth and development.
