Poetry Reading with Dr. Tammy Ho

Dr. Tammy Lai-Ming Ho, Hong Kong Baptist University professor of poetics, president of PEN Hong Kong, and founding co-editor of the first Hong Kong-based international Asian-focused journal, Cha: An Asian Literary Journal, visited on Friday 18 October. Students were able to experience a reflective poetry reading followed by a thought-provoking Q&A session. In a continuation of the One Book Programme’s exploration of Seamus Heaney, Dr. Ho’s visit encouraged students to see poetry in the juxtapositions of everyday life, and use art as a form of emotional release and collective record.
