Junior Fellows Present at Teaching and Learning Innovation EXPO 2021

16August2021

On Thursday 29 July, the Junior Fellow team participated in the university’s thirteenth annual Teaching and Learning Innovation Expo. The team hosted a Q&A session on their self-designed research project that evaluated the implementation and effects of discussion board assignments in the GEMC 1001 Current Dilemmas and their Histories course. Discussion boards were a new feature of this course in light of distanced learning in the past academic year. Results of the Junior Fellow’s survey indicated an overwhelmingly positive student response to their use in the course with students finding that the virtual assignments fostered deeper engagement with course concepts as well as deeper connection with their classmates at a time when they could not be physically together in class.
