Winners of the 7th Annual Student Photography Competition Announced at Virtual Ceremony

On Monday 29 March, winners of the 7th annual Morningside Photography Competition were announced at an online ceremony. The college hosts a photography competition open to all CUHK undergraduates every spring. This year, the categories are Meaningfulness, Chaos, and Resilience.

 

The jurors are Ms. Lulu Miller, Peabody Award-winning science journalist and author of Morningside’s One Book Programme selection Why Fish Don’t Exist, and Ms. Kate Samworth, author, fine artist, and illustrator of Why Fish Don’t Exist.

 

Thank you to all students who submitted photographs for this year’s competition. Congratulations to the winners!

 

 

Meaningfulness:

  • 1st Prize – ‘Age’ by Nicholas Ng, Wu Yee Sun College
  • 2nd Prize – ‘Life Companion, Walk With You’ by Ka Kit Yeung, Shaw College
  • Students’ Choice – ‘Age’ by Nicholas Ng, Wu Yee Sun College

 

Chaos*:

  • 2nd Prize – ‘Which Taxi?’ by Evan Wu, Morningside College

 

Resilience:

  • 1st Prize – ‘A Tree of Hong Kong’ by Ziling Yu, Morningside College
  • 2nd Prize – ‘Sunshine on Mount Qomolangma After the Mist’ by Yuetong Song, CW Chu College
  • Students’ Choice – ‘Old Man’ by Tin Shing Woo, New Asia College

 

*The Grand Prize winner, which was also the 1st Prize and Students' Choice winner for the "Chaos" category, has subsequently been disqualified due to copyright issues.
