"An Invitation Dinner": Honouring Families of the Graduating Class of 2019

On 10 April, students and their families gathered for the Dinner for the Families of the Class of 2019. The Master of Ceremonies for the event was Year 1 student, Karen Chan. College Master, Professor Nicholas Rawlins, opened the evening by congratulating the graduating students on their achievements and reminding students and parents alike that they will always be welcome at Morningside. "I hope the dinner this evening marks the beginning of a new stage of our relationship when students become our alumni, and parents become our supporters," Prof. Rawlins said. "This is not really a goodbye dinner. It’s an invitation dinner: you are all friends and family to us. Please keep in touch and please come back often."

Following Professor Rawlins’ remarks was a speech by graduating student, Frances Kang. Frances gave a moving speech in which she thanked her father for his support. She also expressed her gratitude to the Morningside community for being her chosen family at CUHK.

Congratulations to all the graduating students, and many thanks to the families in attendance!
