Final-year student Myles Ng received a bronze medal for his paper titled "Wage, Job Satisfaction, and Loan Source. What Factors Influence the Financial Conditions of Hong Kong’s Migrant Domestic Workers?” written in Spring 2022. This commendation was granted at the CUHK Economics department’s 2021-22 Excellent Undergraduate Paper Awards. His supervisor for the paper was Dr. Vinci Chow.

Myles was praised within the department for submitting the first such paper to focus on a very specific demographic group. Myles grew up in the Philippines. Upon arrival in Hong Kong, he volunteered and interned at HELP for Domestic Workers, an NGO supporting domestic workers and educating them about their rights. He also launched Helpbridge, a social impact startup with a free mobile app that is an information sharing platform for migrant domestic workers.
